W. liussell) yesterday "The Chief Health Officer, Dr. Valintine, this morning visited the Manuka," said the Minister, -"and discussed wivh (he crew of the vessel the trouble that was being made with regard to the men at Somes Island, as a result of which the ship was held up. Dr, ValilUihe informed me that two of the three, men referred to were completely restored to heaith, and that consequently there was no need for their further detention on the auarantine island. In the case of the third man his illness rendered it impossible for him to be removed. After meeting Dr. Valintine the crew expressed complete satisfaction, and agreed to work tho ship." A memorandum received 'by the Minister from Dr. Frengley makes this other statement: "The three seamen remaining on the island to-day refused to be removed to hospital on the mainland ae was desired by their comrades on the llanuka."
