ROBERT BURNS CLUB
A well-attended. meeting of tho Robert Burns Club was held in the Ponsonby Hall last night. The Hon. T. AV. Hisloy occupied the chair, and gave an interesting address on the work of Eobert Burns. The constitution and rules were adopted. The following officers were appointed: —President, the Hon. T. W. Hislop; vicepresidents, the Hon. T. M. Wilfnrd, Mr. James Craigio, M.P., and Dr. Gibb; joint secretaries, Miss I. Pickthall and Mr. Martin Duff. It was.decided to postpone the election of a committee till next meeting, the provisional committee to act in tho meantime. After the conclusion of tho business an enjoyable social evening was spent. Miss Daisy M'Lellan gave a fine exhibition of her skill in the Highland Fling. Musical items were contributed by Miss Pickthall, Mrs. Potts and Messrs. Leydcn Jackson, Martin Duff, Len Barnes, and Sanders. Mr. W. W. Crawford, entertainer, provided some very amusing monologues which won hearty applause. The gathering concluded with "Auld Lang Syne."
