HARNESSING WAIKAKEMOANA. \ By Telegraph-Press Association. Napier, May 11. At the council chambers this morning a oonferenco of representatives of the various local bodies in Hawke's Bay was hold, at-the invitation of the Mayor, to consider the question of trying to persuade tho Government to undertake immediately the work of harnessing IV'aikaremoaua for tho supply of electrical energy. The following resolution was earned unanimously:—"That «ais meeting work in with the league in sending a strong deputation to Wellington and failing the Government commencing this work as a national scheme in conjunction' with the other two schemes, the proposal of tho Hawke's Bay County Council to take advantage of the Local Power Boards Act bo supported."
