A boy aged about twelve years is at piesent at the Salvation Army Home, while the police are endeavouring to. locate his parents. As far as can be gathered, the lad comes from Christehurch. He was given money by his mother to purchase some 'boots, but, desiring to see more of New Zealand, ho boarded the ferry boat at Lyttelton instead and travelled to AVellington. There he fell in with two soldiers, who, on lieing told that ho wished to see some relatives in Auckland, paid his railway fare. They kept a friendly eye on the lad after arrival, and as far as they can gather ho has no relatives here. He was therefore handed over to tho police for safe keeping, pending further information,
