MONTHLY MEETING. ( ' The monthly meeting of the Hutt County Council was held yesterday. Present: Councillors P. C. Cooper (chair* man), W. Galloway, W. J. Howell, M< W. Welch, J. Whiteman, and P. Cavnnngh. . , The inspector (Mr. Ciulby) reported that improvements had been effected to the Hutt Koad, and other minor matters had received attention. Stokes' Bridgo seeded redecking, but the condition of tho structure did not warrant Hie outlay. His recommendation. was that the bridge should be re-erected in ferro ; concrete. The Pliinmcrton-Pahautanui road had been repaired and was in good order. - Hq estimated the cost of-tho proposed roads at Plimuicrton Exton» siou.at .£650. Generally speaking, the roads were in very fair .order. The council decided that a new bridge should be erected in Stokes' Valley the arraiißements to be left in the bauds of the chairman and Councillor Welch. . Tho engineer's report was adopted. The ranger reported that during tno month ho had impounded sixteen head of stock. ' Following upon representations mado by the Wellington Automobile Club, it was decided to erect signposts on tho various rouils throughout tho county.
