ORGAN RECITAL
If the oity organist's recitals draw no big attendances and create no popular furore, they are at least a never-failing source of delight to those who love and venerate the great composers. Mr. Bernard Ptge opened his latest recital (given in the Town Hall on Saturday night) with the tendering of a "Concerto in E Flat" (William Felton, 1713-69). Cesar Franck's sublime "Pastorale" (Op. 10), with its surpassingly beautiful and harmonious structure, was then played, nnd was followed by Scriabine'e "Prelude" (Op. 1G),- No. 8. Tho final number of Pnrfc I was another Franek composition, "Prelude, Fugue, and Variation" (Op. 18). The second part of the programme consisted of music from Wagner's "Tristan and Isolde." Mr. Page interpreted with magnificent effect the "Prelude to Act III" and Isolde's "Liebeetod." The latter piece is that (rang by Isolde over the dead Tristan, and is one of the greatest musical creations extant. The OTganiat ovoked enthusiastic applause by Wβ rendering of it. ' '__
