Tho Association adds that there is a keen demand for land of all descriptions. No doubt the lowness of tho stock market, coupled with tho number of inon returning from the front, is responsible for this. In fact, the inquiries for email sheep farms, from 300 to 500 acres, is so great that tho number of properties offering does not nearly satisfy tho' inquiry.
As far as one can see ahoad, .the future appears bright. There must be, for a number of years to come, a profitable market for all New Zealand's primary products. ' North America prior to the war was experiencing a difficulty in producing sufficient meat to supply her own growing population. She has, as is wejl known, stripped herself bare to feed Europo; so, besides satisfying a keen inquiry. for our produce in Europe, America will also be a strong competitor for all our staple products.
The Near East must also bo. reckoned with. Japan, a few years back, was a competitor for our best crutchings. In fact, the prices paid prior to the war were even better than crutchings are realising to-day under tho commandeer. Japan' has mado a largo amount of money through tho. war, "aj«l .during tho past four years her development' has been phenomenal. When the opon market for wool is resumed, which if is understood will be in 1920, one may wifii confidence look on Japan as being one of our largest purchasers.
In conclusion tho Association places on record that it is optimistic enough to believe that the labour unrest which is going on throughout tho world may not affect Now Zealand appreciably, and that if tho statesmen of Britain can only adjust the serious questions arising between Capital and Labour we can with confidence look forward to a very bright future for ■ Now Zealand, and to tho prices for land being well maintained.— Advl.
