Tomatoes at thf beginning of the month were in good nupply/but at the latter end the, supply diminished considerably. .Growers are, apparently having difficulty in ripening the 'list of the crop this season, judging by --the quantity of "greets" marketed. Quinces have been in poor supply this season, as well as in quality, but a ■keen,demand, was experienced with- resultant'high prices. Christchurch.—During April large supplies of pears have been marketed, and m consequenoe poor prices have ruled. Apples have, been, in vei'y short supply owing, to the light crop, and the bulk of late'varieties .being, cool stored. Disease has-been, very prevalent, and a considerable amount has been condemned and destroyed, principally for black 6pot, The supply of tomatoes is falling of fast, and -prices have risen a good deal. Tho supply,; of vegetables has been , rather poor,' particularly: roots. ..Cabbages and cauliflowers are becoming more plentiful. Dunedin.—Very few of tho consignmehts'coming forward are really firstclass -fruit,. but : anything of, first ; class qttolity is sure to bring very satisfactory prices.;.-; v Invercargill—Fair supplies of locally.grown fraits have arrived on this market during-tho -month of April. Good consignments of. Jonathan and Delicious apples 'arrived from Nelson. These met with ;ii ready: sale at a very fair-price. Tomatoes are ; . nearing a finish. Pears are coming to hand in fair supplies, and .prices are firm. A few lines of peaches and plums are still coming forward.'! Potatoes nnd all kinds of vegetables' are short of requirements. ■■' .
