The entertainment arranged for the King's Theatre for the coming week, commencing this afternoon at the matinee, will oonstituto probably _ the strongest programme yet catered for a picture theatre in the Dominion—the appearance of Miss Carrie Lanceley, soprano, and her accomplished company Is ueing looked forward to with considerable interest. 3l'iss Lanceley is a soprano of no mean order, and lias appeared at all the chief London concerts. Her opening number will be "The Jewel Song" ("Faust"), and the other items will no doubt be suitably selected. Included in the company are Miss Doris Strable, clever monologue entertainer and accomplished solo pianist, Miss Eva Symons, solo violinist, and Miss Nellio Simpson, solo ilautist, already well Known to Wellington audionces. The star picture for. the coming week is Goldwyn's latest masterpiece, "The Kingdom. of Youth," featuring, two screen favourites, Tom Moore and Madge Kennedy, and is said to be the bestdressed and. staged screen story shown in Wellington for some considerable time. The supporting items. have been specially selected, and include a particularly intcrestinglandlengtliy Gazette. The music discoursed by the King's Grand Orchestra is always a delight, but really; judging by the items listed for the coming week, patrons are in for a thorough musical feast. The entra'aote will be Sullivan's "Gondoliers"' (selection), and during the evening the orchestra will play selections from "Tho Geisha," "Dollar Princess" "Tho Grand Duke," and many other morceaux of considerable merit. A new star has arisen in Triangle plays in tho person of Dick Rosson, who will lie seen in "Cassidy," the attraction to be screened to-day at the Empress Theatre. Critics have announced that his concJption of tho pari; of Cassidy is perfect. Tho story is built upon the theme that every human being, however degraded, has some spark of good only requiring to be. brought out. How Cassidy repaid the only kindness ever shown him—he had only liis life to give, and he gave it willingly—is depicted in a photo l drama that grips. Episode 11 of "The House of Hate" is one of the most exciting numbers yet shown, while (ho Patlio Gazette contains the latest news from all parts. PROFESSOR BARRADEN. That entertaining hypnotist, Professor Barraden, will to-night give a demonclration of his. powers in the Grand Opera House. The professor recently had a very successful season in Wellington, and made himself known to a great many people. His aim is chiefly to evoke laughter. Oil this occasion he will stage "The Hypnotic Bnckjunipers" and "The Hypnotic Blacksmith," t.wo turns that are reputed to bo as novel as tliey aro amusing TO-NIGHT'S ORGAN RECITAL. Owing to the many requests for last Saturday's organ recital, Mr, Bernard F. Pago, City Organist, has arranged to play the whole of the programme again at his recital to-night at tho Town Ilall.
