THE KIA ORA
a TO BERTH THIS MORNING. • Bγ.Tcleerarli—Pros? Association. Christchurch, May 8, It is officially announced that the transport Kia Ora will berth at Lyttelton at daylight to-morrow morning. Tho South Canterbury, Otago, and Southland men ■will leavii Lj'ttelton by special train at S a.m. The influenza contacts are being removed to Quail Island, and the mumps cases to Bottle Lr.ke Hospital. The Kia Ora's soldiers state that the voyage was a very smooth and rjleaeant one, and they all appear to be in Inch spirits. The Health Officer's launch, when it arrived at the vessel's side tonight, was greeted with ringing cheers from the soldiers, who were crowded on the Kia Ora'e decks. Tho doctor was bombarded with questions regarding the probable duration of the quarantine period, the men appearing to be very anxious to be released from quarantine as early as possible, • The transport's medical officer is Dr. Georgft Craij, D.5.0., of Auckland, who was at one lb.ni> medical officer of the Cook Islands.
