RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEEDED,

Speaking at the General Synod on the question of revising the -Bible-in-Schools League, the Bishop' of Wellington said that Modern civilisation was merely nominally Christian. It was really heathen, with a tincture of Christianity. Religious education by convinced Christian teachers was necessary. Canon P. T. Williams ascribed, all social evils to ■the absence of roligion from the education system. Whole-hearted support of church schools was essential. .
-The Primacy Bill, regulating the, mode of election of the Primate, passtd its second reading.
