At the midday luncheon of tho Masterton Progressive Lcaguo on Tuesday, a committeo was set up to bring'down a report on the question of instituting an advertising campaign. It was also decided that steps be taken to fittingly recognise the lengthy public services of Mr. J. M. Corodine and Mrs. Coradinc, tho retiring Mayor and Mayoress. It has been decided to-endeavour to popularise JMt. Holdsworth as a tourist resort. A town committee has been sot up' to further tho movement.
The housing problem still awaits solution in Jfasterton. Accommodation of all kinds is at a very high premium.'
•Sergeant B. Livingstono, D.C.M., AT.11., and Sergeant Maurice Ply, M.M., lxith of whom have had a lengthy military career, returned homo on Tuesday even-
ing. A man namd Cuthbert Bridge was thrown from his horse on tho Carterton road. He sustained a fracturo of tho V'igljt ankle, and was admitted to the Masferton Hospital.
