HEMP AND TOW GRADING
Tho following return, showing: the quantities of hemp, tow, awl stripperslips graded at tho ports <jf the Dominion during April, 1919, have been prepared by the Department of Agriculture: The total number of bales of hemp graded wns 7395, as compared with 10,1H for the corresponding period of last year, a decrease of 8719 bales. Tor the twelve months ended April 30, 1919, the number of bales graded was 129,378, as compared with 107,595 for tho previous twelvo months, a decrease of 38,817 bales. During the month 1412 bales of low were dealt with, r.s compared with 3420 for the,corresponding month of last year, a docreaso of 2014 bales. For tho twelve months ended April 30, 1918, the number of bales graded was 19,539, as compared with 37,001 for the previous twolvo months, a decrease of 17,522 bales. " No strippor-slips' were dealt with. For twelve months ended April 30, tho number of bales graded was 599, as cornpara! with 2011 for the previous twelve months, a decrease of 1412 bales.
