SPARTACIST APPEAL FOR RELIEF
SURRENDER MUST BE UNCONDITIONAL

May G, 8 p.m.) Copenhagen, May 2, The Gorman Government troops are tightening the cordon around Munich, refraining from artillery fire, and endeavouring to crush the Sparlacists at close quarters. The Spartacists have sent a wireless appealing for relief, as their food stocks aro exhausted. .Bands of robbers are plundering the banks and houses. General Hoffman declined the Spnrtacists' offer to cease hostilities provided ho did not enter Munich. Hoffman lias demanded an unconditional surrender, as resistance is useless.—Aus.-N.15. One hundred nad fifty people were killed, fivo hundred wounded, and f' v ° thousand arrested during and after the capture of Munich.
