NEW BUILDING NOW POSSIBLE. Reference to the. long-awaited now school and the great need for it was contained in the report of the director presented to the Wellington Technical Education Board last night. Following was the passage in the report "Tho accommodation at present is deplorable, t'he work being carried on in ]hah,\- rooms whoi;o' tho conditions are little short of-appalling for study of any kind. It is, therefore,- all tho mora gratifying to loai'n that the vexed question of the site for n new college has at length been; settled, by tho gift of four acres of land at Mount Cook, and a subsidy of .£15,000. This provision, together with tho geneious donation of ■£15,0(10 made by the City Council, will enable a commencement to bo made with a building which will adequately cope witli the needs of the district and constitute a lasting monument to the good oilizanship of -Wellington^ "Tho very best thanks is due to tho Minister of Justice (the Hon, T. SI. Wilford) for his proposal whereby the foundations of the building might bo provided on the actual site by means of prison labour. Should this proposal eveutunto in actual performance, a very valuablo stimulus will ltavo been provided for the furtherance of the good work."
