One or two of bis friends who had known him in his better days-— ■ .His Honour: He is one of the victims of' our driplc traffic. "Finding himself hard up with no food for his family, he went into this store and stole <£2 Bs. 3d. in money and 1-llb, of corned beef. The man is Buffering from alcoholic, poisoning and I think the proper thing is.to send him to Roto Roa. Perhaps it is not his fault; for many lads brought up as jockeys have not made good citizens. Not, all jockeys, however, have turned 1 out like that. Jenkins was 'sentenced to "eighteen months' detention at Roto. Roa.
