DANNEVIRRE
There was a large attendance at the Returned Soldiers' Association's annual reunion ut Dnnnevirke, over which Major Mackay presided. The speakers were Major Mackay, Lieutenant Larsen, Messrs. Best, Quigley, C. H. Gillam, L. C. Breakwell, E. F. Sorensen, ]?. liobertahawe, J. Knight, and C. A. Mars. A programme of entertaining items was contributed to by Messrs. L. Kendall, P. ,T. Dodds, L. Herbert, 11. G. Smith, R. Gillespie, K. Gillespie, Private A. Fee, and Rii Karauria. Messrs. JJ. Graham and Johnston have been elected sytiodsmen for the Dannevirko Anglican Church for the next three years. Office-bearers have been elected as follow for tho ensuing year:—Vicar's warden, Mr. Webber; pooDle's warden, Mr. F. B. Harrison; vestrv, M.-ssrs. "JT. IT. Phillips, G. It. France, H. Chadwick, F. Flicken, P. Craven, C. Johnston, S. Tansley, If. Graham, and F. J. Knight; nuditor, Mr. Carl Thomson;' lion, secretary, Mr. W. 11. Giesen. It. was resolved at the annual meeting that the peaco memorial should take tho form of a West window. When this is installed, the present, window will be offered-to some country church.
Messrs; Kareourt and Co. report that thorp was a fair attendance at their auction rooms yesterday, when properties No. 21 Antien Street and 21 JTobson Street were offered. Tho bidding not reaching the reserve, tho properties wero passed in, and are now in the hands of tho auctioneers for private sale,
