»: ANNUAL MEETING. 'Jllie New Zealand section of the Merchant Service Guild of- Australaaia-Jield their annual meeting yesterday morning. Captain 33. B. Alwoori presided, and 'those present included Messrs. D. C. Dates (Government Meteorologist) and T. li. Wallace (secretary of the Marine Engineers' Institute). In his annual report,. Captain F, A. Mncindoo referred 10 the increasing work of the guild, and expressed pleasure at tho fact that a spirit of unity had existed between the guild and the Marine Engineers' Institute. Since the last report Ml new members had joined, and 18 old members had died. The committeewas endeavouring; to secure better accommodation with the idea, of catering for flic social side, of the' guild, jir.d it was imped shortly to secure rooms m Ihx Maritime Buildings, An honours board (the report stated) was. at present being made for tho Auckland branch. Tho repr.rt and bnlancc.-shcct were adopted, and members present expressed themselves as being well satisfied with the administration of the guild's affairs by the secretary. The secretaries of the Lyttelton and Auckland branches were granted bonuses. . The officers were re-elected from last year.". •. . .- ■
