SPIRITUALISTS' ASSOCIATION

.' CONCLUSION OF CONFERENCE. At the concluding nceting of the conference of the National Association of Spiritualists, in the New Century Hall, all tho churches under its jurisdiction were fully represented. The new set of rules was unanimously approved. The various reports of churches showed a marked increase in tbe membership and a keen interest in the movement. It-was decided that several speakers of international reputation should bo engaged for missionary work in the Dominion. Tho authorities p.re to he assisted in abolishing fraudulent practice by unquali. fied persons claiming to hold psychic gifts, and tho conference decided to 1 press for the recognition l:y_t)ie State of the certificate of the National Association, and for the repeal of the .'Witchcraft Act of George 11. It was stated at the meeting that over 100 members of thp British House of Parliament are pledged to the repeal. Tho following officers were elected for the year:—President, iMr. C. liai'liam Morris, F.R.M.S.; vice-president, Mr. W. B. Stewart; secretary, Mr. C. E. Sibsun; I treasurer, Mr. J. G. Jnger; auditor, Mr. G. Darbyshire; boafd of management, 1 Jlr. C. Morris, Mrs. 15. Birdsall, Messrs. G. Miller,'A. Kirk, T. M'Nicnl, T. C. Vesny; national conductor of lyccums, Air. H. G. C. Edwards; badgo officer,. Mr. Astridge. It WiW. dwided to accept an invitation from the Christcliurch society to hold the next annual conference in"that city, and the thanks of the assembly wore nnssofl lo the Wellington Associntioji for its excellent arrangeni'ints, which contributed so largely to the success of tho present gathering.
