THE BESSA GENERAL SURVEY TO-DAY.
Although tho."stop-work." meeting held by members of tho Waterside' Workers' Union at eight o'clock yesterday morning -interfered considerably with the ■work of unloading the cargo of the Norwegian steamer Bessa, it is hoped to have the vessel ready for a thorough examination 6omo time to-day. The waterside workers resumed work at 1 p.m. yesterday, and it was expected that, operations would be continued veil on last night in order that the vessel might be ready for Mr. A. Walker's (Lloyd's Surveyor) inspection, After an examination of the spot where the damage was done it ie proposed, to inspect the whole of the -vessel in case-there should be any further damage..
As .the Bessa is a foreign vessel there is no power to order a magisterial inquiry, but there is the ..possibility of there being a formal inquiry under the direction of the Marine .Uspartment.
