A telegram from Auckland reports that the Canadian-Australasian steamer Niagara sailed on Saturday night for Vancouver, vip, ports, after a fortnight's detention as tho result of influenza breakint; out among tho passengers from Sydney. The Commonwealth and Dominion Line advises that the War Courage left Newcastle on Friday morning for Wellington to deliver 6000 tons of coal. The waterside Workers on Saturday morning turned to in the holds of the Union Company's Kauri and Karamu, both of which had, since last Monday night, boon idle, through reasons well known to everyone. Tho coaetal stoamer Karamu finished unloading her Diinedin consignments, and sailed for Westport. On Saturday morning the New Zealand Shipping Company's Kaikoura berthed at King's Wharf, and her troops camo ashore. For Napier—her first loading port -she will sail on Wednesday, returning to Wellington to rcceivo before final dispatch for London. AUSTRALIAN SCOW ARRIVES. Tho Union Box; and Packing Company's scow Maroi'o was towed into port yester-' day by tho tug Pelican, and dropped anchor in the quarantine area at 3.20 p.m. She brines a, general cargo and a deckload of timber from Sydney to tho agency of Messrs. G. T. Hull and Co. On completion of discharge hero the vessel will set sail for Wanganui, there to load timber for Sydney. The Maroro took fifteen days to comb across the Taßman Sea and was sighted off Wellington Heads at daybreak yesterday. . MELTABLE GOSSIP. Mr. J. Georgoßon has relieved Mr. F. W.
