LATER DETAILS OP THE RIOTING. (Rec. April 20, 11.20 p.m.) London, April 18. Government reports from India stato that the shops are Teopening at Lahore and Amritsar, Several agitators havo been arrested, and some of them deported. The railway station at Gujeranwala. 42 miles northward of Lahore, was burned,, the staff injured, and the lino damaged. . Martial law has been extended. During the riots 50 Sepoys faced a mob of 5000, and dispersed it by firing. The situation in Delhi, Bombay City, and .Calcutta is quiet. In the Anniedabad district Ghaudi appealed to crowded meetings on, April 14 to forswear violence. Two outlying police posts wei'B burned, and the treasury at Viramgain, about 40 miles west of Ahniedabad, was looted. Strikes are threatened on two of the railways, and the Punjab communications are seriously threatened. Other official reports state that serious riots broke out in Amritsar following the removal of Kiehlu and Satyapal, " two virulent agitators. Two banks in towns were burned, and three bank man. agers wore burned to death. Five Europeans were killed during tho rioting. Nine rioters wore killed and 21 injured. Troops wei;e sent and order is now restored. Disturbances also occurred at Lahore and Ahniedabad. Two Government buildings were burned in the latter, cits'. Bombay is disturbed.
