'Mr. and Mrs. Waddy (Blenheim)'are in Christfihurch for the Easter races. The marriage t»ok plnco last week in tho Trinity Congregational Church,' Christchurfch. of Mr. William G. Wilson, Kin of Mr. B. J. Wilson, St. Albans, and Miss Amelia (Nurse) J. Franklin, second daughter of Mr. G. E. Franklin, also of St. Albans'. Mrs. E. Cornford (Hawke's Bay) came to Wellington last week to meet her son, Sergeant E. Cornford, who returned from Rgypt by the Ivaikourn. Soldiers who returned to New Zealand from .Egypt hy the' Kaikoura, at a very early hour made their way to tho Returned Soldiers'.Club on Lambton Quay on Saturday, and tho ladies in charge of the refreshments had a busy time. Throughout the day the club was made use of cither as a depot in which to leave their kits or to obtain refreshments, although once the earlier part of the .morning was past there were not f.o manv men culling owing to the fact that a good many left by various trains for their destination northward.
Tho necessity for having accommodation for lady doctors provided at public hospitals was brought before the Auckland Hospital Board last week, when n. letter from the Inspector-General of Hospitals dealing with the subject was read. Dr. Florence Keller .strongly urged that proper accommodation for lady doctors should be provided at the Auckland Hospital. In the past, she said, accommodation had been, provided for them in tho nurses' aunrteis, hut this was not now available. The chairman (Mr. S. J. Harbutt) said .so many ■ young women Were now, entering tho medical profession that ''it'was felt suitable provision should he made to'afford them every facility for acquiring hospital' experience. Other mombew supported tho suggestion, and it. was decided that. accommodation for ladv doctor's should bo provided in the next building erected by the hoard.
: There recently returned to tho Dominion: Sister N.' I'itzgibbon,. of the Australinn Arniv Nursing Service. Sister Bitzpibbon, who belongs to Arrowtown, received her training ftt the CUristchurch Public Hospital, and, with several others from that institution, offered her services to tho Government shortly after tho outbreak of war. She- was subsequently lent to the Australian Government, and proceeded to Egypt with the Ist Australian Hospital, being established there just in time to receive the first batch of wounded arriving from Gallipoli. Afterwards she was transferred to Frauce, and did duty in casualty clearing stations and base hospitals in various •parts of tho Western front. Sister Fitzgibbnn is now enjoying a well-earned rest prior to-her taking up a military appointment at Christehurch.
On Thursday the women's branch of the Christehurch Red Cross Society and tho Canterbury Automobile Association,, provided an miting for twenty-two of tho returned soldiers in tho Consumption Sanatorium. The party was motored to Colonel the Hon. It. Heitou Ehodes's' residenco and grounds at Otaahuna, Tai Tapu, and spent a most enjoyable time.
Mrs. Cameron, aocompanicd by hei r daughter, Mrs. Upham (uco Miss Ihith Cameron), a member of tho Aotea Convalescent Homo in Egypt, who returned to New Zealand at the end of last week, leaves to-day for her home in Wanganui.
>Mrs. M'Laren (Homobnsh, Maslcrton) camo to Wellington Inst week, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Hugh M'Laren and Mr. and Mrs. Peter M'Laren, to meet her. daughter, Mrs.-Wilder (nee Miss Lena-M'Laren),'a member of the Aoteiv, Convalescent Homo at Heliopolis, who returned 'to Netf Zealand by tho transport .Kaikoura., They are staying at Lyiill Eay.

Mrs.-Cameron will slay with her.tiistem at Kanvarra'..' Tho-wedding took placs in Auckland of Miss Irene L. Dignan, of Epsom, and Lieutenant-Colonel Edward Puttiek, D.5.0., of the N.Z.8.8., son of Mr. and Mrs. Puttiek, of Gamaru. Mrs, Ormond (Hawke's Bay) is staying at the Midland Hotel. Miss Myrtle Bonttell, whose- marriago is to take placo at Lyall Bay,.-was tho guest of honour at a "kitchen tea given bv Mrs. H. B. Base last week. Manyguests were present, and a very pleasant timo was passed with music, recitations, etc. Many useful and ingenious gilts wero received by the prospective bndc. Dr. Bangihiroa. M.P., who has been on activo servieo for a long time, and his wife, who was an active V.A.D. worker at Home, left Wellington last week for Duncdin. Mdlle. Dolores is singing in Duncdin this week, and on her arrival in that pity on Thursday evening was mot at the station by the Dunedin Male Choir, and setcunded. The- murringo took place last week in the Nimby Street Methodist Church, Ohrislcliufch, of Mr. William Harold, llindle. son'of Mr. H. llindle, of Naseby Street, to Miss Gwendoline Alice Thompson, second daughter of Mr. Harloe Thompson, of Jtugby Street. The Ecv. \. C. Ijawry performed the ceremony. The bridesmaids were .Miss Sybil Thompron and Miss Hazel llindle, and Mr. It. Caldwell and Mr. Olivo llindle were respectively l.iost man and groomsmnn. Tho future home of Mr. and Mrs. flimlle will bo in Wellington.
