The annual meeting of tho Dannovirke Hunt Club was held this week. Officers for tho ensuing year were elected as iollow- Patron, Mr, G. Hunter; president, Mr F. Armstrong; vice-presidents, Messrs. ,T. Ilolden, T. H. G. Lloyd, W. li O'Deane; master, Mr. Gaistord; treasurer, Mr. 11. N. Blakiston; auditor, Mr. liowe; committee, the master, depulylvasler, vice-presidents, and Messrs. Koake, C. Harris, F. D. ' Ilewitt, Lloyd, Hire, and J. Hewitt. The huntsman icported that tho hounds in the kennels were 1G couples and four puppies, Mr. Lloyd announced that lio would domilo a new uniform for the huntsman, ihe secretary reported that application for the dates of the steeplechase meeting had been made some time ago. At the quarterly meeting of the Methodist circuit at Dannovirke the balancesheet showed a credit of several pounds, and tho membership, after revision, riimbered over 100. A committee was eot up

M'lean. „ . , ~ During March 30 cases •of infectious diseases "were notified to the Danncvirko Hospital Board, 19 of the cases being mild influenza cases among children. Plans have been prepared for improved kitchen accommodation at the Uannevirke Hospital at an estimated cost ,or .£250. On April 1 there were 51 patients in f'iio hospital, of whom.4s were men. Various hospital salaries are fo be increased as follow: Matron, ,£2OO pel" .annum; board's secretary, ,£201); health officer, .£250. Tho Health Department ■wrote advising that funeral expenditure for epidemic victims who were in poor circumstances would be paid by the Department at the rate of live guineas and cemetery fees. WAiRARAPA ITEMS Miss M. Bnrbush, who is leaving for Otaki to assume an appointment on the school stall', was farewelled at South Feathersion on Thursday night and presented with a cheque, also .a sold necklet and pendant.
