SAILORS' REST
Tlio British anil Foreign Sailors' Society, Post Office Square, lielil another social cvoniiiff on Thursday, a number of seamen from oversea and coastal vessels in port being present A. hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the ladies who provided the evening's programme. Before closing a short gospel talk was given to the men.: The Social Committee lias Hie arrangements for the Easier holidays well in lumd. To-night a social evening will be held at the Naval Boating Cl.ub, ,'lervois Ijuay, for che seamen in pon. On Sunday, at the same nlnce, the usual sailors' Sunday tea will be held at :i p.m., followed by a song and gospel service. On Easier Holiday u sailors' picnic will lie held at Jtiramar. Sailors will meet at the rooms of the society, Post Ollice Square, at !) a.m. Various games and sports will be held. On returning from the picnic the party will proceed to the Naval Boating Club shed where a social evening and distribution of prizes to the winders of the. day's sports will conclude'lhe day. If the weather proves unsuitable the day will be spent at the naval b'oliling shed.
