THANKS TO THE "KIDDIES" Sir,—Would you please convey, through the medium of your paper, to the boys and girls who camo out to welcome us home again this morning our very sincere thanks and appreciation ? George Samuel Evan?, LL.D., who died in 186S, was one of the earliest English settlers in New Zealand, and is soinetimr.s spoken of as the Father of the City of Wollinglon. He was headmaster of Mill Hill School, London, in 1828. If he has any surviving friends or representatives, as editor of the "Mill Hill Register," 1 should be exceedingly grateful to them if they would kindly fiend me details of his later life and work in Victoria, and especially a portrait of him, to be enlarged, if ne?d be, and preserved at the school.—l am, etc., E.
