GRADUALLY BEING RELEASED. London, April J3. Mr. C. A. M'Urdy announced that tho food control is being released rapidly, except on certain staple articles. The Goverrment will continue tho bread subsidy, and meat will be controlled until Michaelmas, in accordance with. the ■agreement with the producers. Butter, will also remain controlled owing to tl:o shortage. The operation of the food trusts in America must be carefully watched. "'A commission has reported that the trusts tended to monopolise the world's supply for the purpose of making extortionate profits. The Ministry intended to continue the national kitchens, which had been very successful, but it would not open otlrrs to compete with private enterprise.—Aus.-N.Z. Cablo Assn.
