WAR PRISONERS' ESCAPE

SIX DISAPPEAR FROM FEATHERSTON. The Commissioner of Police yesterday .received information that Bix prisoners of war had escaped from Featherston Internnieat Cam]) in (lie morning. The names of the escapees, and their description? as supplied to the police, are given below :—

Charles Hadler; age, about 30 years; height, sft. 3in.; fair complexion; fair hair; blue eyes; tattooed on both arm?, and scar by right ear; was a sailor on s.s. Star of India when arrested for internment.

Martin ICock: Age, about 12 years; height..sft. lOin.; dark complexion; dark hair; brown eyes; tattooed on arms and face and hands; wns a fireman on 5.9. Ulimaroa when arrested for internment.

Alfred Kraut: Ace, about 20 yearsj height. sft. Tin. ; dark complexion; dark hair; brown eyes; arrested from sailing ship Pnm.iM at- Dunedin. J. J. Slign: Age, about 24 years; height', sft. 71 in.; dark complexion; dark hair; grey eyes;' served for a time in the military forces and after his discharge was arrested in Auckland on suspicion of 'being a disaffected and daneerous, alien; claimed to be n Dutchman, but ie now definitely known te be a German.
