AIR PIONEER'S FEAT
LANDING ON A ROOF Jules Vedrines, the famous air pioneer, wim has been enveloped in the fog of ivar, emerged in a remarkable way on January 10. when, two or three minutes after leaving Issy, lie landed in a Caudron 111, on the roof of the Calories Lafayette. The* feat is really notable, for the roof of those big stores is so fenced about with "'..2y signs" and other erections that it \W almost a question of dropping the iH'i'opiaiio into a hole. It becomes e\m\ more of a feat when it is realised that tho landing-plttce is only .10 yards long, and that the width is but a very few feet greater than the spread o? to n.acln'ne's wings. ' It is the intention of Vedl'muo & stun off as soon as possible on tour of tho world. His plan is to begin bv louring round Africa, to fly from theie across Arabia to India, and then to Australia, across the East Indies. From Australia he means to go to China ami to reach the American continent over ti'3 Bohring Straits. He is to return to Europe with a landing at Iceland, cr,d then come buck to France after a flying visit to Groat Britain.
