Canada's war pensions are estimated to cost 30,000,000 dollars (.66,000,000) a year. Ten per cent, of birch wood has been successfully lused in the manufacture of paper in Quebec. The rest of the pulp was of eprucQ and balsam. Hitherto birch and other hardwood has been considered unsuitable. Since the war began lamsgate has lost practically the whole of its fishing fleet.
