The Czoeho-Slovak mission, which has arrived iu Paris, hus made a somewhat alarming report to the French War Minister. The members declare that the fiennnns are showing great activity, especially in the eastern districts. They are manufacturing guns, machine-guns, and aeroplanes, while from the Baltic to the Czeoho-Slovak- frontier recruiting is actively proceeding for the so-called "official army." Recruiting ogents are found at every railway station, appealing to the patriotism of'the young men to ioin the army. The pay offered is six marks per day. As this is more than can be earned in civilian employment, thev are enrolling five hundred men daily. Von Hindenburg's name is used as a t'et'sh, while von Lettow and von (iallwitz ai't actively associated with the movement, which is warmly supported liv the Junsers and the bourgeoisie. .Many wagons are being constructed, ostensibly for revichialling work, but: in reality for military use—Aus.-N.Z.
