"THE RADICAL PARSON"
The death is announced ■ of the Rev. Willinm Tuckwell, 11 .A. (89), widely k--'wn fov many years as "The Radical Parson." A native of Oxford, his recollections of the city, urid university went back to a more distant period than those of any other graduate. In his "Reminiscences of a Radical Parson," '* recorded inanv interesting experiences 01 a country clergyman. He chronicled much of'the social history of his native city in his "Reminiscenes of Oxford" and "Pre-Tractarian Oxford." His other writings included "Winchester Fifty Years Ago," a biographical study of Kingslnke, and a. monograph on Lycidas. Politically his views tended towards those of Labour, and he was a strong advocate of land nationalisation.
