NAPIEI! BKANCH OF A.S.K-S. DISSATISFIED'. Jiy Telegraph—Press Association Napier, April 11. At the largest meeting of railway men ever held in iNapier, tuc following resolution was passed unanimously:— "That' this meeting of liie Napier branch of tho Amalgamated Society of jtailway Servants,. aiier going carenilly into the proposed schedule of wages submitted by the Department, considers that the wages proposed arc totally inadequate. As tlic purchasing value ul' the sovereign is now reduced to 135., we consider that our wages under the new schedule shuuld bo further increased uy 2s. per dav. This branch wili not be satisfied until the schedule proposed by the executive of the Amalgamated Society of Uailway .Servants and approved by branches is adopted in ils entirety. We also wish to point out'that we have not received an increase in wages, tho Department merely calling bonus wages, so that the superannuation contributions will be deducted, thus reducing our monthly wage. The branch also urges that a special conference be arranged lo urgently deal with the wages question."
