MEETING OP THE BOROUGH COUNCIL. A mooting of the Miramar Borough Council was held Inst evening, tho Mayor (Mr. P. Tovrnsewl) presiding. Also p;vsent were: Councillors S. H. Underwood, M, Tracey, W. H. Greig, and H. K. llobertshaw. Reference was made to tho proposed honours board, and it was decided that relatives of soldiers from the district bo asked to givo full particulars so that tho names may be inscribed on the board. The council decided to agreo.to the suggestion of the Minister of Public Health that a clean-up week be held, commencing on Monday next. The -Wellington Football , Association wroto thanking the council for tho uso of Soatonn Park for tho coming season. The AVorser Bay Swimming Club ' forwarded a letter of thanks for the remission of rent on the clubhouso for tho last twelve months. It was resolved that immediate stops be taken to put Onepu Road in a ft state to carry vehicular traffic. A decision was arrived at that the wages of the council's labourers bo increased, and it was decided to again advertise for more men. On the motion of the Mayor, seconded by Councillor Underwood, it was decided to hold a public meeting on Monday next week to consider what steps should 1)0 taken lo organise the borough so as to deal with a possible recrudesccnco of the 'influenza epidemic.
