MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Mr. F. V. Frazer, S.M., presided over a brief sitting of the Magistrate's Court yesterday. Jacob Rasmussen, who admitted being absent without leave from his ship the 6.5. Fearless, was convicted and ordered to be placed on board the vessel. Ho was also ordered to pay 335. expenses incurred. A young woman named Grace Henderson was . remanded till April 17 on a charge deeming her to be an idle ajid disorderly person with insufficient lawful means of support. For a breach of her prohibition order Mary Patterson was fined £3, in default 11 days' imprisonment. Four first ollendors for drunkenness ■nere convicted and fined ss. each.
