A LABOUR PEOTEST. At a meeting of the Wellington Central branch of the Labour Party last tvening tho following resolution was carried unanimously:—"That the Wellington Central 'branch of tho New Zealand Labour Parly views with alarm the negligence of the Public Health Department in permitting tho Manuka, t'roni which acknowledged cases of inlltifciiza were taken to the Wellington Hospital, to proceed to Lytlelton. It considers that action constitutes, a, grave menace to the health of thecommunity, and expresses its appreciation of the stand taken by, the Wellington waterside workers in safeguarding the city from the danger of i a recurrence of the epidemic." THE BATTLEInIuSTRALIA SHORTAGE OF DOCTORS IN SYDNEY Sydney, Ayril 8 There were 33 deaths from influenza yesterday. The epidemic is seriously affecting the public and business staffs, many of whom are unemployed, paiticularly employees in amusements enterprises.
