Palmerston North, April 8. .Information ha9,been received by the Palmerston North police that a German sea mine was found on Rangitikei beach about, 17 miles from Bulls. The mine was discovered by Mr. Carter, a resident of the locality, and it had apparently been washed up by the tide only a short lime More. A square box, covered with netting, and bearing the number 34, was 'also fouud-a,'6hort distance from tho mine, tat whether this'is merely a piece of wreckage or a naval appliance is not yet known. The police have communicated with tho Naval Adviser in regard (o tho mine, and Bteps will no doubt bo taken to destroy it.
