RATES AND CONDITIONS OF NEW GRANT. The British '.Ministry of Pensions recently announced that the recent concession of the grant of special separation allowance to parents of unmarried sailors, soldiers, or airmen, who were under tho i}KO of ■Iβ lit Hie outbreak oi war or -oiiiing for service, if later, and who have died in consequence of the war, has been extended to pensions. Pensions may now be granted to parents under 'three categories:— . Parents of Men Under 2G. 1. Parents of 'men under the age of 2G at the outbreak of war, or date of joining for service, if later:— Pensions not exceeding ss. weekly may be granted, provided that:— (a) The man was unmarried. (b) Ho hat) left no child or other dependant in receipt of or eligible for separation allowances or pension. Parents of men who were contributing to their parents' support before the outbreak of war or date of joining for service, if later:—

Cd. and lint: exceeding Ins. a week may be granted according to the circumstances of the case. Pensions under Categories 1 and 2 may be increased if conditions of Category 3 are fulfifilled. If separation allowance or pension is being paid no special application will be required in cases under 1 nnd 2. The necessary forms will be'sent to the parents in ('ue course by the officer paying separation allow--mice or by the Ministry of Pensions. If no separation allowance or pension is being paid, application is necessary, aivl should be addressed to the Secretary, Local War Pensions Committee, who vill issue the requisite forms.
