GENERAL HANDICAP EVENT,
On Saturday afternoon the Port Nirholpon Yacht Club decided a , general handicap nice for yacht's of first, second, and third classes. The event was originalhr- euiled on Anniversary Day last, but owing to' the boisterous weather conditions and'one or two minor accidents it was decided to have a. resail. The light air on Saturday, favoured the' smaller 'crnft, which, with comfortable handicaps,' wore, able to negotiate the'course in fine'sty!?;". Topsails iigured prominently, and, in fact, all available canvas was spread. The course was fiom Clyde Quay Wharf to Jerninghain. buoy, thence to tlie easternmost buoy by tho' hulk ancliorage, round '.a ■ mark-boat off.the Clyde Quay "Wharf, thence to a and around Jerningham buoy, and back to Clyde Quay Wharf.
