"DAILY MAIL" SUED FOR ALLEGED LIBEL
VERDICT FOB THE PAPER. London, April i. I A-vei'dict-for the defendants was given in a libel action brought by Mr. Lebas ngninst the "Daily Mail." The plauitifl conducted a newspaper campaign against Sir. Lloyd George, paying provincial papers to insert articles, and the defendants attacked Lebas, asserting that l-.o would possibly assist the enemy and corrupt the Press. The "Daily Mai}" never questioned the plaintiff's loyalty, but considered that he conducted the oampaigu on unfair mcthods.-Aus.-N./i. Cable Assn.
