THE RIOTS IN EGYPT
OFFICIAL REPORT OF THE RISING.
Cairo, March 25. An official report on the late rioting shows that villages were sacked and burned, and three railway stations and a number of trains were wrecked and pillaged. The rioters murdered several British soldiers and railway employees. On March 16 they attacked the police station at Minsezel Camp, and released the prisoners. The military picket fired at the rioters, killing 30 and woundingl9. \t Tanta sevferal thousands attacked the station, and the troops and police fired, killing 22 and wounding 50. •U Cairo G9 were killed and 58 wonnded before the disorders were checked — Reuter. Further outrages in the Egyptian provinces included the burning of the Government Buildings at Rosetta and the agricultural and bank buildings at Sana; Airmen bombed and machine-gunned Bedouins and villagers who had ossembled in large numbers between Cairo and Fayout, inflicting heavy losses.— Aus.-N.Z- Cable Assn.
