SCOTS COLLEGE BARRACKS

A four days' barracks was inr.ugurr.bd yesterday at Scots College, Miramar, under Captain M. Hell, group commander, No. 5 Group, assisted by Lieutenant Thompson and a stall' of five sergeantmajor instructors. Tho Cadets evinced keen interest in the work, and earned praiso from their instructor:). The work done comprised elementary squad drill, musketry, and physical drill. In tho afternoon the Cadets were formed up and addressed by Lieutenant-Colonel 'I'. W. MacDouald, General Staff officer, Wellington military district, who indicated to the Cadets the idea underlying tlicsu barracks, and stressed the importance of physical fitness for their work in life. The course will extend for three more days, and everyone concerned is looking forward 16 an cujoyihic and profitable time.
