In a letter dated July 24th, 1918, Rev. Father Wm. P. 0. Poyle, Rector of tho Church of Our Lady of the Holy Itosary, and a well known Catholic Priest of Vancouver, writes:— "In reply to your request for an expression of opinion on the results of Prohibition in Vancouver, I wish to say that .1 am convinced that the closing of the Saloon has improved tho conditions of many houses, both in peace and in prosperity. The Catrkolic Children's Aid . Society reported at its last annual meeting that cases of destitute and delinquent children had distinctly diminished owing to the Prohibition Legislation."
