The' Wairarapa Farmers' Co-operative Association, Ltd., Stock Department, re. port on their Carterton sale on March 28 when they offered 1160 sheep, 150 head of cattle, and 65 pigs to a. fair attendance. Prices wore on a par with last week's, aucL-\ve ivero successful in disposing of practically tho whole yarding at the following prices:—Sheep: Wethers, 255.; aged ewes, 10s. lOd.i cull'ewes, ss. to 10a.; shorn b.f. lambs, 12s. to 12s. 6d.; cull lambs, 4a.9d., Is. lid., ss. 4d„ 65.. 3d. to Bb. 6d.; S.D. rams, 21 guineas to 3 guineas. Cattle: Light fat cowb, £7 10a. to £8 10s.; storo cows. £4 53., £5 6s„ £5 19a., £6 ss. .to £6 15a.; heifers in milk. £8 5b.; springing heifers, £8. £9 10s. to £10.: 18-months steers £5 9s. to £5 175.; Jieifer calves, £1 15s. to £3; potter bulls, £6 2s. 6d„. £7 10s., £7 155.-, £10, £10 2b. 6d„ £10 55..t0 £10 15s. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report on their 6ale at Carterton, on Friday, when they submitted a, good yarding of sheep to the usual attendance of buyers. Competition was inclined to drag, but the bulk of tile yarding ivas cleared at the following prices4-tooth ewes, 19s, 6d. to 265.; f.m. ewes. 145.; shorn wether lambs. 12s. to 17s. Id., the latter price being obtained for an extra good line of 200 on account of Moore Bros.. Waineawa. Woolly lambs, 7s„ 10s. to 10s. oil.; weaner pigs, 10s.-; porkers, 325. 6d.; dairy heifers,.£7 155.; weaner calves, 15s. Tho' N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report having held a successful clearing «&le of Bheep. cattle, etc., on . account of Mr. A. - E. Paget, Mtuigamihoc, on Friday 'last. There was u. very fair attendance, and though bidding at- timeß was dragging good prices were realised. We quotel-6-tooth ewes running with S.D. Tarns, 20s. 3d.; - 6-tooth ewes (empty), 225, I0d.; 2-tooth ewes, 265. Id.,- 4-year empty ewes, 17s. fid.; do., with S.D. rams, 18s.; 2-toot-li wethers, 225. 2d.; ewe lambs. 155.; b.f. lambs, 125.; cull lambs, 4s. 6d.; S-tooth Itonmey rams, 4 guineas to 5 guineas; cows running with hull, £7 55.; m.s. weanerß, £3 4s. (d.; 2-year heifers, £6 10s.; 4-year do., £8 17s. Gd.; 18-montlis Hereford steers, £9; dairy cows, £1110s. to £12; wool press, £10. Sundries sold well up to cloaring Bale rates.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Palmerston North, report:—At our Palmerston .North sale on March 28 we had a .small entry of both sheep and cattle. The attendance was poor, yet we realised vendors' prices. We emote:—Medium 2-tooth ivethers, 225, Id.; Rood 2-tooth wethers, 275.; cull.- ewes, 65.; light fat cows £8: yearling steers, £2 156.; weaner heifers, 295.; small weaners, 12s. ; Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Feilding saloon March 28:— We had a good yarding of both sheep and cattle. There was little demand for ewes but good lambs sold well. Competition for grown bullocks -was poor; other classes sold -well at late rates, AVe quote:—Sheep; Fat ewes, 21s.' 3d. to 225.; 4 and 5-ycar ewes, 19s. to 22b.; store .ewes, 12s. 6d. to 17s. At Stratford, oil March 25:—Weaners sold up to £2 25.; empty heifers £3 15s. to £4 2b.; store cows, £4 10s. to £8; bulls, £4 ss. to £8 10s.; rough 20-month -steers, £4 155.; choice springing heifers, £11; lambs, 10s. 6d. to 135.; mixed fat sheep, 365. 9d.; fnt lambs. 225. 9d.; small 21s.
