Under the Brussels agreement Germany is allowed to export certain commodities, but under Article 111 the export of coal, • timber, dye stuffs, iron and steel products, sugar, glass, electrical »ind certain other machinery are provisionally prohibited. It is now agreed that tho Allies shall have a pre-emptive right to purchase two-thirds eacli of these commodities. The remaining third can be exported .to other countries, the proceeds .'of sale'to be applied to the payment for food. This arrangement will be abrogated after the preliminary peace is sign-ed—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
