The Hawke Cup cricket match between Wanganui and Poverty Bay was concluded to-day in fine weather, tho visitors winning by three wickets after an exciting finish. The wicket was soft, but the outfield was faster than on the previous day. Wanganui, with four wickets down for GC, continued this morning, and.were all out for 139, the principal scorers being EUem (2.3) and Holland (13). Oatcs took four wickets for 41 runs: Coombe two for 21; Scholium, one for 13. Poverty Bay were set 117 to win. The chief scorers for Poverty Bay were Coombe (25) and beeves (not out 3C).
