' A VAUDEVILLE PERFORMANCE. The New Zealand Variety Entertainers and the Waterside Workers' , Glee Party gave o capital entertainment on vaudeville lines in the Concert Chamber last evening before a fairly numerous audience. A feature of the programme was theo performance of the sketch "The Two Arabs," which, with a little working up, could be made an exceedingly humorous comedietta. It involved a quarrel mid a "scrap" between _ a London shoeblack and newsboy, in which parts Mr. AV. -Mack and Mr. 0. Lansdon created much healthy fun. .Mr. A. : Smith and Mrs. Cakebread nbotook imrfc in the sketch. The hit of the evening was made by Private J. Wilkinson, a returned soldier, who galloped, into favour in the capital lilt "Fortyirimfand in the Army," a recent London success, which is bound to be whistled about the streets,as soon as it becomes known. He was also successful ill "Hv-bye," and gave an excellent imitation of Leonard " Nelson in "Mister Booze." Little May Onicrod sang very sweetly "That'll How I Need You," and "Captain Baby Bunting"; Miss Annie Currifl danced a sheantrubhos with rare grace and spirit, and Master Brown and a smaller Miss Ourrio rattled flirough an Irish jig in a stimulating fashion. Miss Foirclough sing "Coming Horiie' nnd "Mother. l n'■ Mine," and Mr. A. Smith saiv,' "I've a Furnished Room, to Let" and "Pack Vp Yaur Troubles" (in which Hie audience socinblv joined in the chorus). Miss M. C'ooley was particularly good in a character recital "Christinas Bells" mid "And So Was I." Songs were also suiig by Mesdames Cake-' bread and Bourne, ami "Messrs. Ritchie and Lawlor. The watel'siders' orchestra played some, selections suitably.
