ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
FALL DOWN SHIP'S HOLD. PIREMAN INJURED. An Arabian fireman named Alii was admitted to tho hospital at 9.20 p.m. yesterday suffering from injuries to his head and shoulder sustained as the result of a fall. It appears that Alii was a fireman 011 tho steamer Leitrim, which is at present lying at tho King's Wharf, and at 9 o'clock last evening he boarded the vessel. Whilst proceeding along the deck to his quarters he apparently fell down No. 1 hatch, a.distance of 12 to 15 feet, sustaining injuries to his head and shoulders. - Although the police made inquiries last evening no further information was available as to the cause of the accident. The hospital authorities reported late last night that Alii was doing as well as could be oxpected, and that it had been necessary , to insert stitches in the wounds of the patient. LAD'S BODY IN HARBOUR. Auckland, March 27. The dead body of a youth named Robert Charles Green, 17 years of age, was found about midday in the harbour. Deceased was the son of Mr. .Tohn Green, of the Crown Dairy. Ho had been missing since Monday night, when lie aa'id lie was "going to the pictures."
