PASSING OF THE LARRIKIN
SPLENDID TESTIMONY TO MILITARY TRAINING. (Eec. March 27, 8.55 p.m.) London, March 22. Senator Pearce, in an interview, said that a pleasing feature of the elfect of compulsory training in Australia had been the abolition of the larrikin, who formerly lounged in tho street; addressing rude remarks to women. This unlovely type had disappeared. Instead of spending their time unprofitably, tho Australian youths had turned into liie'n of splendid physique, who had made the Commonwealth's name glorious in the annals of war.—Aus. -N.Z.
