: THE GOVERNMENT'S THANKS. The following li-Hor of thanks to the epidemic workers was received at yesterday's meeting' of the Wellington, llospitr (ible awl Charitable Aid Hoard from (he Minister of Public Health (the Hon. UiMScll):"1 desire to expruss-the thanks of the Govorniryent. to voursalf, the governing bodies, nnd the people pf . your city, .tmvn, and district for the assistance rendered during' llio recent world-'ivide epidemic. j "The. Government, recognises, that, .the self-sacrifice and heroism of the people— iii co-operation with the hospital authorities. the Array Medical Service,- the medical profession, the nurses,- the voluntary workers,, and the Public Health Department, combated the disease with vigour and-success, the result being that though severe, the visitation •• was of short duration. It therefore tenders its sincere thanks to all u;ho assisted and gratefully, recognises the imflin.'hing courage and devotion displayed by all classes during ■ the. sad \i'ays through which the- Dominion, in common with oilier countries, passed during the pne-wee-of -the' epidemic over our country. The Government also' thaiikfuMy- recourses the generosity of those" who' assisted with voluntary contributions of money, and goods, and in other '-ays,' fir the benefit of the relief funds necessitated by the epidemic." '
